The MYA have the following advice for its Members regarding the current Coronavirus outbreak.

In line with advice published by Public Health England the MYA do not currently recommend the cancelling of events but do recommend that sensible precautions are taken to prevent the potential spread of this, and other, viruses. Hand washing is the most important single thing that helps with this and clubs should provide adequate hand washing facilities with plenty of soap and water. Where this is unavailable then a supply of alcohol based hand sanitiser should be made available and all members and guests encouraged to use it regularly. Anyone with flu like symptoms should stay at home and not mix with their fellow sailors for the time being. The wearing of face masks is said to have little effect in preventing the spread of viruses.

This advice will be updated as, and when, the MYA consider this to be necessary or when the advice from Public Health England, UK Sport, or the Government changes.
