Trevor Binks is New IOM district Champion

Today 19 skippers raced at DWRSC in R4 of the IOM district Championship. Darin Ballington won the day on consistent scores, Trevor was 2nd and Ken Binks 3rd. When the district calculation was made Trevor won the championship by 1 point from Ken.
The wind was moving and the race officer Tony Guerrier decided to alter the course on the north side the wind had rotated so much that we moved across onto the south side this proved the right decision and racing commenced. 19 skippers in one fleet sailing to a port rounding windward mark with spreader buoy to help keep the fleet apart, down to a lea ward gate and the same course was sailed twice finishing on the startling.
Although time was lost this morning due to wind rotation 14 races were completed by 4.30pm. The fleet retired to the cafe for presentation. Ken Binks accepted the championship trophy and bottle of wine on behalf of Trevor who had already left, the presentation of today’s race were presented by Terry Rensch to 1st place Darin Ballington thanked the race team and Datchet for hosting event, 2nd place Trevor Binks (Ken again accepted on behalf of Trevor) and 3rd place Ken Binks.
