Lincoln RSC have just confirmed that so far they have 17 entries for the Clive…
Well 8 brave skippers turned up for this event well considering the weather forecast it was very definitely not a promising prospect, but as it happened, we got a few drops of rain and a reasonable wind all day, so the conditions were a lot better than I expected.
Shaun Holbeche again sailed well to win overall but not as easily as normal he was chased by Graeme Harris with his very pretty burgundy (not pink) Rococo and John Burgoine with his Romanza, with a couple of teething problems, there was a good selection of people at the top end of the fleet throughout the day, but consistency paid off. A good day sailing even from the side-lines, just wish I could have been out there with them.
My thanks must go to the race team, Sue, and Brian Haith for scoring all the finishes, always knowing what race we were on and when they were finishing, Alan Smedley for looking after the course alterations keeping the rescue boat pumped up (a slow puncture) and assisting with observation of the proceedings, and last but by no means least Martin Underhill for his assistance and photos.
Don’t forget round 4 is at Bournville RS&MBC 3rd October, and we look forward to seeing you all there for a good day’s racing
Mike Ewart, TIRYC.
