2021 MD6mCS Round 2 Bournville RS&MBC results.

16 skippers had pre-entered for this event with competitors coming from both Northern and South Western District clubs. At the booking in we had 14 as a couple had to withdraw. The weather forecast was not looking good for the PRO Peter Moore, what with the wind coming across the lake and the threat of showers, if not heavy rain. He called the skippers together on time for their briefing and asked that they stick with the no doubted changes of course during the day. The race management was provided by the host club with Mick Barnett, Roger Hopper and Robin Webb doing all the outdoor duties come rain or shine.

The event was going to be run as a single fleet with little breaks after each three races to refuel or adjust as required. The Bournville RS&MBC had provided cake and coffee at their outdoor table all day, and I can tell you that it was well frequented by all. During race three there was an incident adjacent to the finish line that ended up in a protest, this is unusual for the 6m fleet, but we decided that the hearing would be at lunchtime so as not to hold up the racing. Peter called lunch at 12:30 saying they had 30 minutes and we would restart at 13:00.

Racing recommenced and Peter managed to get a further 6 race away before the finish time, which gave everyone 12 races so this allowed for 2 discards. See here for the final positions. 2021 MD6mCS Round 2 Bournville RS&MBC results
