MDMCS 2019 R1 Leicestershire RYC, Results

This year’s Midland District Marblehead Champion Skipper series kicked off at Leicestershire RYC following a last minute change of venue as Manor Park RSC who were down to host the event had a sailing club meeting and we were not able to get on the water. That did not however stop a small but select group of 10 skippers having a great day in the southerly winds at Tuckers pit lake. It was really good to see both Peter Stollery & Rob Vice from the Guildford MYC come up to play in the Midland series.  Richard Moroney took on the duties of PRO and called everyone to the initial briefing on time at 10:00am, the wind was right at the top end of the A rig and this created some fast sailing. By race 2 the wind had picked up a little more and some of the boats were having some issues on the off wind legs, and this certainly washed off the winters dust.

A race report from Richard will be posted here later in the week along with hopefully some further pictures, if you cannot wait for the results here we are: MDMCS 2019 R1 Leicestershire 17.02.19

Thanks to Richard, Don & Eric for doing the race duties, and the next race in the 2019 series is scheduled for 12th May at Leicestershire RYC and is also race 5 of this year’s GAMES series so hopefully we will see more Marblehead skippers from outside the District joining in.
