Last Sunday saw 15 skippers gather at Bournville RS&MBC for the Mac Colyer Trophy for…
Firstly let me congratulate the Lincoln RSC for hosting one of the first big events of 2021since the lifting of the Covid level three restrictions, namely the MYA IOM Veterans National Championships. There is a good report of the event on the Lincoln RSC website here: https://lincolnradiosailingclub.com/2021/05/25/mya-national-veteran-championships-lincoln-may-22nd-23rd-2021/
There has also been a return to club sailing within our district, and with a lot of maintenance work having been undertaken at Bournville RS&MBC, Manor Park RSC, Lincoln RSC and Market Bosworth RYC we are looking forward to a summer of sailing again.
Talking of which the MD committee published a district calendar of events on the website on 1st April 2021, with a program of “Open” events starting in July and going until the end of the season. To kick things off we have the first of the district R6M events at Two Islands RYC on 19th June, (NOR published earlier).
We have tried to cater for the classes of yacht that we sail in the district and as there are fewer events that we can fit in before the end of the season we hope that the entries will be up this year. It might seem a bit early but don’t forget the MYA National events are filling up quickly so get your entry in soon.
The Manor Park RSC are hosting the MYA Marblehead Nationals on 14th-15th August and if you are not going to sail in the event please get in contact with the club to offer your help, I am sure that it will be appreciated by them and the competitors.
