John Arundell- 2013 MYA IOM Veterans Champion
Congratulations to John Arundell who sailed consistently well over 2 hard days racing at Sutton in Ashfield SC to become the 2013 MYA IOM Veteran National Champion.
Sailing a Tony Brailsford designed boat he kept some fine skippers behind him with a very even spread of results with no large scores. The conditions were testing for many, with breeze ranging from light A rig to gusty C rig and the wind direction necessitating courses that could be an eyesight test at times.
The host club Lincoln MYC had secured the use of Sutton in Ashfield SC who shared their excellent facilities with us and made everyone feel very welcome. Thank you to Rick Walker their commodore and Tim, Caz and Sue who manned the galley. Thanks also to the Race Team who stuck manfully to their tasks allowing skippers to sail.
