The 2nd event of the weekend saw a complete contrast in weather when as forecast the heavens opened and the wind blew. The same cross lake direction as Saturday afternoon created problems for the race team and skippers alike, made more difficult by the driving rain and gusty conditions.
Some competitors didn’t start, others found conditions too harsh after the 1st rounds but those who did persevere were probably quite relieved when the race team finally gave up the battle after the thunder and lightning arrived mid afternoon.
The days sailing was curtailed but there were still 5 races completed and the positions were declared as:
|2||Darin Ballington||98||Manor Park||11|
|19||Tony Guerrier||50||Three Rivers||58|
|28||Dave Cox||15||Tri Services||105|
Thanks to all the guys and girls at Eastbourne & District Model Yacht Club for giving up a weekends sailing and standing out in terrible conditions in order that some mad fools could go sailing!
Prizes were handed out by John Henderson Vice Commodore of EDMYC.
