An excellent breeze greeted competitors at the 2017 M&S R36 Open Meeting hosted by Solent RCMYC at Setley Pond.
Race Officer Ray Fidler set a course to utilise the length of the lake, with a good beat and testing gybe mark. Visitor Colin Trower, from Hampton Court MYC, took line honours in the first four races, but was unfortunate to have servo problems forcing him to retire after the first five races.
The lead changed several times in the later races with home sailor Dick Jobbins winning the event overall, Robin Clabburn taking second place and Martin Houlton, third.
Winner, Dick Jobbins, is shown receiving the Apples Trophy from Club President, Martin Houlton.
