In from PRACC 3 PRO Martin Dovey
Wow! who would of thought it – 18 RA’s on Bournville, Fantastic. So many entries require 2 fleets to be sailed and managing to complete 9 heats required the skipper to be pushed along with no tea breaks and only 30mins for lunch, that said no one complained!
The wind was relatively good for Bournville with a predominately ESE wind (with the usual flicking around to keep everyone on there toes) and of sufficient strength to get the A’s on the plane during the afternoon, a great sight. Peter Wiles was in devastating form, with Peter Moore, Darin Ballington and David Stewart in close pursuit. A big thank you to all the skippers for great sportsmanship, it makes running events a pleasure, although sailing in them would be even better!
A big thank you to the Bournville members for coming out to assist in the running of the event and to Elaine for keeping the pot warm throughout the day.
Thanks Martin and the Bournville club for a great day.
