Turns out the southern half of the fleet got their rounds completed in super quick time yesterday and this morning, which meant us northerners had to do 5 rounds this afternoon, which we did in winds that kept us on our toes with some strange gusts that caused some to broach on the downwind legs. The experts showed us how to do the upwind legs with some well timed guys, while my guys either never happened or were too short, will try and find a happy medium next time. Starting to understand where I don’t want to be on the lake, but it’s harder said than done to ensure that doesn’t happen. The varying designs certainly have their sweat spots in terms of when they come alive in the varying wind strengths. Look out for a full results update from Mervyn later. Time for a Guinness.
