A day of two halves…..

The Midland District IOM ranking day 1 was a day of frustrations for all involved as the weather men’s forecast was proved to be spot on!

Competitors and race team were met with a very shiny lake at the Midland SC water in Edgbaston, the race team from Bournville MYPBC worked hard to provide racing in the morning with Chris Harris PRO holding his cool and keeping a smile on his face as he battled with a light and fickle breeze that would flick through 180 degrees during the countdown.

It was not until after 3.00pm that a consistent wind came in and with racing until 6.30pm the competitors managed to get a very hard worked 7 races completed before hitting the bar to tell their tales of woe and what ifs.

Thanks to Chris Harris and his team from Bournville for running the day, and the Midland SC for making us feel at home.

Oh, nearly forgot, the results, well as usual there were a few who got all the lucky shifts, had paid their dues to the wind gods and showed the rest of us how to do it. Funnily these seem to be the same as when the wind blows, go figure it!
